We pride ourselves in our reputation for integrity.  Our word is our bond and you can expect fair and honest service.  We will listen to you and provide a program that best suits you and your horse’s needs, not what will make us the most money.

Our quiet, private farm is an ideal learning environment and guaranteed railbird free!  We have a small barn with personal service and an Olympic size dressage arena in our indoor hall.  We also have trails to warm up and cool down on.  We’ll work hard to help you progress with your riding and have a friendly, stress-free environment that creates safe and happy horses and riders.

Our lessons are a full hour, not 45 minutes!  Lesson Fees:

At our farm just outside of Smithfield, Virginia, in Isle of Wight County or multiple lessons at yours:  $50

At your farm (within 10 miles):  $60

Clinic Fees:  $50 per rider and travel fees, if applicable.  Clinic coordinators receive a reduced fee lesson.

Please contact us for travel rates beyond 10 miles from our farm and our show coaching and group lesson rates.

Lessons on our upper level schoolmaster are available to advanced, regular students.

Anna has shown successfully in Germany (show jumping and dressage) and in America (dressage).

Anna’s Education

Heidelberg, Germany
1983-1988

Prinz Karl Von Auersperg (“Der Prinz”), Spanish Riding School (SRS) of Vienna Trainer and Instructor.  Also trained members of the US Olympic team for the Seoul Olympics.

Ute Friedrich, FN German Reitlehrer (Certified Instructor) and Grand Prix rider

Baroness Hildegard Von Mengerson, Assistant Instructor at the Reiterverein Schwetzingen

Thank you, Der Prinz, for teaching me to ride and not just “look pretty” on a horse.  You will always be my most valued instructor and I know you are now teaching the riders in heaven.

Thank you, Baroness and Frau Friedrich, for teaching me while I was still learning German.  Your patience was amazing as was your riding ability and knowledge.

Earned FN German Bronze Abzeichen 1988:  Test in dressage, jumping, and theory for training and horse knowledge to earn German Bronze Riding Medal

USA 1989- Present:

Anna has continued her education with Margret Gafford, a German FEI level trainer and student of the late Dr. Reiner Klimke, and by attending clinics of classical trainers Georg Theodorescu and Felicitas Von Neumann Cosel as an auditor.  She receives further instruction with Bruno Greber, head trainer at Greber Dressage and student of Arthur Kottas-Heldenberg (SRS).   Anna completed Part I of the USDF L Program for future dressage judges in 2012 & 2013.  She will apply for admission into Part II.

Anna is now a licensed North American Western Dressage Association licensed Western Dressage judge!

You’ll continue to learn because Anna continues to learn.  Anna will train you as she was classically trained.  You and your horse will dictate the course and timeframe of your training - not an artificial timeline or the latest gadget.  Nothing forced is beautiful.  Patience and kindness and an understanding of the horse is the only way to a successful partnership!
